We have the following opportunities available:

IT Support / Administrator

We are looking for an experienced IT support professional capable of taking responsibility for all IT issues in this small and varied company. This includes infrastructure sourcing and maintenance for two offices and additional remote users, PC and user support (35 users) and bespoke support to the varied computing needs of our scientific staff. Skill sets must include relevant Microsoft server experience (e.g. MCP, MCSA desirable), development level experience of Microsoft Access and excellent knowledge of standard Microsoft applications & operating systems.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate both the required experience and the initiative to take on this role. This role will be based in our Durham office and will involve some travelling.

Forensic Biology Consultant

We require a Court experienced forensic biologist with a strong track record in evidence evaluation including DNA interpretation, and experience of scene investigation. Competency in a wider range of evidence types would be an advantage. The person must be proactive, independently minded and capable of working to challenging deadlines. The successful candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills and be prepared to undertake a degree of travelling as part of their work. They will enjoy the wider responsibilities and benefits of independent consultancy and managing their own caseload.

Forensic Computing

Due to business growth vacancies exist for an experienced professional and/or new graduate to join our forensic computing team. Experienced candidates will be familiar with all the standard software packages used in this area, be comfortable with the breadth of work encountered and be able to complete examinations and reports to Court deadlines.

New graduate applicants should have a good degree in computing/computer science. A higher degree and/or other experience of forensic computing/data recovery will be an advantage. Good communication skills, verbal and written, are essential. Structured training will be provided.

Roles in this area require a current driving licence and the ability to carry out out-of-the office examinations. Casework is undertaken throughout the UK and Ireland. The graduate position would be based at our Durham office, the experienced position need not be.


Cell-Site Analysis

A vacancy exists for an electrical/electronics engineer, or telecoms engineer, to undertake cell-site analysis casework in criminal and civil matters. The successful candidate will have relevant industry experience, for example as a field engineer for a network provider, or will be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of mobile telecommunication networks which is supported by their academic/research background. Good communication skills, verbal and written, are essential.

Roles in this area require a current driving licence and the ability to carry out out-of-the office examinations at possibly remote or poor access locations. Casework is undertaken throughout the UK and Ireland. Proximity to either our Durham or Huntingdon offices, although an advantage, is not essential.
